Are coloured contacts safe to wear?
Are coloured contacts safe to wear?
Yes, when worn correctly. Every lens is manufactured in a medical-grade facility, sealed in sterile packaging, and made from premium hydrogel designed for comfortable all-day wear. The key is the same as any contact lens — clean hands before handling, follow the replacement schedule, and never share your lenses with anyone else.
I've never worn contacts before. Can I still wear these?
I've never worn contacts before. Can I still wear these?
Absolutely. Plenty of our customers are first-time lens wearers. Coloured contacts go in the same way regular contacts do, and most people get comfortable with the routine within a few days. If you're nervous, start with a shorter wear session — two or three hours — and build up from there.
How do I pick a colour that actually suits me?
How do I pick a colour that actually suits me?
Start with your undertone and your natural eye colour. Warm undertones tend to flatter honey, hazel, olive, and amber shades. Cool undertones work beautifully with gray, gray-green, sapphire, and violet. If your natural eyes are deep brown, look for lenses described as vivid, bold, or high-opacity so the colour shows clearly. Our shade-matching blog post has a full breakdown.
Will the colour show up on dark brown eyes?
Will the colour show up on dark brown eyes?
Yes — as long as you choose a lens with enough pigment density. Look for shades marked as vivid, opaque, or high-coverage, and pay attention to patterns with a defined inner ring. These are built specifically to show true colour over darker irises, while softer tinted lenses are designed for light-eyed wearers.
What do BC, DIA, and power mean?
What do BC, DIA, and power mean?
BC (base curve) is how curved the lens is to match the shape of your eye. DIA (diameter) is how wide the lens sits across your iris — larger diameters create a slightly bigger, doll-like effect. Power is the prescription strength, written as a negative number for short-sightedness or a positive number for long-sightedness. Plano means zero power — no prescription needed.
Wear & Care
How long can I wear them each day?
How long can I wear them each day?
Most wearers are comfortable with 8 to 10 hours of daily wear. Some people can go longer, some prefer shorter sessions, and it often depends on your environment — dry air, long screen time, or air conditioning can all shorten comfortable wear. Never sleep in your coloured contacts unless they're specifically approved for overnight use.
Can I wear them with makeup?
Can I wear them with makeup?
Yes, and a lot of our community does. The rule is always lenses first, makeup second — put your contacts in before applying eye makeup to keep product out of the lens. At the end of the day, reverse the order: lenses out first, then remove makeup. Stick to water-based, non-flaking products near the eye for best comfort.
How do I clean and store my lenses?
How do I clean and store my lenses?
Use a multipurpose contact lens solution — never water, never saliva. Rinse each lens for 5 to 10 seconds before placing it in a clean case filled with fresh solution. Replace the solution daily, never top it up, and swap your lens case every 1 to 3 months. Clean hands and clean habits are the two biggest factors in keeping lenses comfortable.
What's the difference between yearly, 6-month, and monthly lenses?
What's the difference between yearly, 6-month, and monthly lenses?
It's the total wear life. Yearly lenses last up to 12 months from first use, 6-month lenses last up to 6 months, and monthly lenses are daily disposables sold in a 10-pack box — each pair is worn once and thrown away. Yearly and 6-month lenses offer the best value per wear; monthly dailies offer the most convenience and hygiene.
